I'll stick with you baby for a thousand years
Nothing's gonna touch you
In these golden years...
Yeah, I like Bowie. Shush.
This was the cake I made for my grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary back in the middle of August. I would've made a bigger cake, but the boat (ugh, yes, a BOAT ;__; ) that the party was on said we weren't allowed to bring our own cake as part of the catering contract or something... But they allowed this small cake for just my grandparents. My camera died before I could take pictures, and I was all the way up in Sacramento. Luckily, my aunt took like... a gazillion pictures (she's one of those spaztic hobbyist-photographers), but it took her a while to send me a picture of the cake. And she only sent one, so... here it is!
My second attempt at royal icing roses. I'm not entirely happy with them, but these ones turned out so much better than my first attempt.
Carrot-pineapple cake, cream cheese frosting, covered in white fondant painted with gold luster. Roses edged with gold luster. My other aunt (mom's got five sisters) provided the topper, she bought it special for the occasion.
