This was such fun to make, and I was up against so many other talented cake artists. It would've been nice to at least place, but like I said... there was some serious cakes goin' down! I learned a lot, so hopefully I'll be better prepared for next year.


Vanilla cake, buttercream filling. Marshmallow fondant, royal icing. Head sculpted from rice crispies, covered in gumpaste, painted with vodka-thinned coloring gels. Waves individually rolled from marshmallow fondant and hand-painted with vodka-thinned coloring gels. Ship is made entirely out of gumpaste, painted with vodka-thinned coloring gels.
